On our way to Rutherford Beach, we noticed a car parked outside an old country store and pulled into the gravel lot, hoping someone might still be there. Booth’s Grocery had closed its doors for good, but Earl Booth Jr. welcomed us in anyway.
What started as a quick stop became an afternoon of stories, photographs, and a place that still felt remembered.
